It is about duality.

Aronoskfy originally wanted bigger battles and more space scenes but the intimacy of the characters is what makes this work and this film proves that bigger does not mean better. Death is the Road to awe is stunning and helps pace the scene incredibly well. The Cinematography by Mathew Libatique is composed and beautiful, really creating lasting images that have stayed with me for years. I do not suggest any of the eateries though. I never enjoyed Hugh Jackman more than in this role!

And even if the viewer "hates" it, it has an alchemical effect- like the mandalas of Tibet- simply experiencing the mandala is transformative to the psyche/soul/spirit.

I'm not a fan of Darren Aronofsky's films, although I gave a few some generous ratings in my teenage years.

There is more that I admire about The Fountain but this post is already pretty long.

But fear not... all flesh decays.

the outcome of the director's largest budget to date is a movie that drunkenly stumbles the line between confusing and boring until it just explodes.

I loved this movie, so trippy and beautiful!

Fountain is a readymade sculpture by Marcel Duchamp in 1917, consisting of a porcelain urinal signed "R. Mutt". Made me wonder about many things, ideas racing through my mind, feelings, interpretations, religion, literature. The Fountain is a rare film that is impossible to explain yet is still a masterpiece of filmmaking. In this cruel and emotionless times, unfortunately there won't be much people who will be able to cross their limits and appreciate the true masterpiece that Darren and the whole team achieved!!

Don’t get me wrong, I love how poetic and creative it is, but it gets problematic when it romanticizes the conquest of the Americas. The Farewell5.

Is Tom really floating in a space bubble to resurrect Izzi, who has grown into a tree?

On the surface, this sci-fi saga is a quest of one man's thousand years struggle to save the very woman he loves and although the plot is quite complex for some viewers to follow, it eventually holds up well over repeated viewings.…. The depth of Jackman's characters and his portrayal of each is a very rich and fascinating performance that has not been matched by nearly any other male actor this entire year. movie_manRedux. PERIOD. My feelings on the picture….

The whole film builds as an experience through time to the end, both in its running time and in its 1000-year-spanning storyline.

Uncut Gems9.

However, you are also right that not everyone will like it. After the area of the Pantheon, this is the place I suggest to wander about in crowded, architectural bliss.
Good people watching of course. For Sama10. Last accessed 15 Oct 2012. We all fear it.

I would say he's worthy of awards recognition, but the subject matter is so obscure that it's unfortunately unlikely. Finish it… ” Izzi. I have problems with the film, but I advise you to check out its original website with the abstract screensavers. This movie is a unique emotionally experience. It is a fantasy after all, and perhaps an insightful depiction of a very pseudo-mystical European fantasy, but ultimately it’s just about the maturation of a privileged, upper class, entitled white boy that will transgress every boundary in the pursuit of his own selfish desires.

A shame the target audience is so small, as you'll probably need a fairly advanced meditation practice or study to have any understanding of what it's about. Site's no longer running but the link above will give you an idea.

We also thought Sunshine of a whatever was rubbish. You are right: we do not "watch' this movie- but in experiencing it we become aware of our own themes, and of the transpersonality of conciousness. will die. The Fountain is an unforgettable journey through human nature .

Aronofsky is the best young director making movies today.

Made by fans in Auckland, New Zealand. Clint Mansell and Kronos Quartet’s score is utilized well with the films “epic” scope, and, as I said in beginning of my review, the visuals and aesthetic choices are beautiful and the performances from the cast(especially Jackman’s) are great. Once Upon a Time3.

A communication of the founding principals of all existance, and an allegorical account of the cosmic drama of the present time. The Fountain is an impressive story about love and the fight for survivor, as IMDB user review called it “the best movie of the 21stcentury.”.

Totally breath-taking. Love makes life worth living and we should live our lives…, ambitious to a fault, far too much for both aronofsky and jackman to handle. "It's all style but no substance" And its, um, the style is the substance. Last Word: By accepting and meeting death and facing and letting go ofour attachments to the physical appearances, we realize the eternal freedom, the eternal life-force, the eternal joy, inside and beyond the life/death pulsation. Una obra polarizante de Aronofsky, en la que me perdí entre narrativas pretensiosas. Tomas, a 16th century conquistador, is seeking the fabled, “Fountain of Youth” to save the life of Spain’s Queen Isabel who risks death at the hands of a merciless Inquisition. Requiem, black swan, Noah. Review by Naughty aka Juli Norwood ★★★★ 4.

Izzi write about her love story with Tommy, like she is a queen, and he struggle and fight to find the “Fountain of Youth”, to save her.

It's purpose should be to help make the distinction between those emotionally dead inside - you will not like it if you are among them, and those few who still have feelings. Cafes around the square to do this from! It is the universal human fear: death.

I hope others, can experience Aronofsky’s creation and enjoy it, as much as I did.

Deep or dumb?

On a very superficial level, it is gorgeous. Fabulous cafes and restaurants which ooze character and style.

In my humble opinion, Darren Aronofsky hasn't topped it yet. The architecture is beautiful and the shops were fantastic...definitely one of my favorite places to sit and people-watch! I completely agree with your review! Flame throwers, jugglers, comic street actors - it's all here.Wonderful live music from the magical violin to the moody electric guitar. The three time periods is a very unique premise to build a story and Aronofsky, to me, perfectly blends and builds each one to a satisfying climax, warping time and space. Looking through my friend's ratings, I anticipate some people will disagree massively with my review. A gorgeous looking, wonderful mess of a film, with a fair amount of ambitious ideas, but sadly never gets any time to shine thanks to its messy structure, though I’ve seen worse when it comes to interwoven storylines. The Fountain isn't even enjoyable nonsense, it's just overindulgent and boring. It's an amazingly deep, profound, touching movie.

The place has a friendly buzz throughout the day and really comes alive in the evening. Huge collection, amazing choice, 100+ million high quality, affordable RF and RM images. This is one of the most beautiful visual representations of loss, grief, spirituality and obsession I've ever seen. The Fountain is Darren Aronofsky’s one and only critical failure as a director, yet whilst it may be overwrought and with delusions of grandeur it is a film I find myself warming to more and more with each new viewing. There's nothing like this out there, it's so goddamn good, and the audience is likely so small, but it's such an incredibly visceral experience I can't see anyone not being moved by it in some way. However, you must sit and soak in the experience all the way through to the last piano melodies at the end of the star-filled credits in order to get a more vast and fulfilling understand of life that extends beyond our own time.

I, like many others, am pretty shocked that this film did not receiver better reviews. Oturup anlamaya çalısmaya ardından sindirmeye davet ediyor sizi. In the movie, we see 2 couple of lovers (Spain`s Queen Isabel and Thomas, Izzi and Tom), but their actually just one couple. Spanning over one thousand years, and three parallel stories, The Fountain is a story of love, death, spirituality, and the fragility of our existence in this world.

Our skin and blood, the iron bars of confinement.
