I had read Behind Closed Doors, and while it was a gripping read, it so bothered me, and would call it a favorite. But how? Alternating between Angie’s blissful life as a young mother and her present-day nightmare, Home Truths is a searing exploration of the lengths one mother will go to survive and protect her children. Interestingly this is another book which reminded me I’m a presumptuous smart-arse.

I really enjoyed this one too! Who does one keep on a happy face when his/her world has been devastated forever? At this point, I've disliked Paris's last two releases as they were so incredibly unrealistic and unbelievable that I'm totally off her now, and she will no longer be on my auto-purchase list, that's for sure!

We learn what it is from the get-go however. Paris’s fan, to give this book a 3. A party she has been waiting to have for a long, long, time. He needs to tell Livia, because how can the party go on? Cue more cynicism and groans from me. I kept considering exaggerated eye-rolls thinking how obvious the plot/s of this book was / were going to be (there are a couple of threads). Please try again. With that being said, this could have been so much shorter, even a short story, yet it dragged on for 340 LONG pages! I was looking forward to this book. This novel was just too much for too little. This is anything but a mystery or thriller! Does not come close to the other 3 books which were awesome! Livia and Adam have a great life, a lovely family and super friends. 1am came, still reading. But it soon becomes clear that she is keeping some secrets from her family, and tonight they are becoming extremely overwhelming. I hope you’re all doing well.

Am I the only reader who finds it a stretch to believe that Adam waited so long to make that phone call? Adam came across as unbelievable and the fact he couldn't tell his wife the sad truth just so she could enjoy a birthday party was ridiculous. It felt like a Colleen Hoover book.

I just could not put it down!! Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. This is just sad, depressing and annoying at times.

The wife was ridiculous. With the Dilemma I could not believe the same author wrote such a frivolous and boring book. As the narrative progresses throughout the course of Livia’s party, it becomes more and more clear that both Livia’s and Adam’s secrets are eating away at them. I kept waiting for the suspense, but it never happened!
