Out of the Conner kids, Becky ended up with the most disappointing lot in life. You need to have the central character of the show in order to still have a show. Born in 1977, Darlene in the early seasons is a tomboy who loves sports and has trouble in school, but during high school she becomes moody, artistic, an animal rights activist, and a vegetarian. To wit, when he found out that Fisher had been abusing Jackie, Dan went over and beat the shit out of him. Darlene in particular rubs salt into Becky's wounds, crowing, "I've been waiting for something like this to happen since I was two!" I thought Goodman could still carry this show without Roseanne.
